Chapter 10


The descendants of Noah are Japheth, whose descendants are Gentiles; Ham, whose descendants include the Canaanites; and Shem, of whom came Peleg (in whose days the earth was divided).


1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

    but this time there were no jews yet. so the word Gentiles must mean something else i guess heathen pagan

    aldo note they had their own languages , who taught that to them? so who are the Gentiles? Ham or Javan and the before mentioned brothers and there sons? Or the ones mentioned after? There were no Jews at this time. So they must be heathens and pagans. There own languages who taught them those different languages. This is before the tower of Babel where the Lord changed all the languages? Or after?


6 ¶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

21 ¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

Eber. Is Eber a woman? Shem is not mentioned in ver 2 as being part of Japheth son? could this be another person?
